Charlotte House Hotel Wedding Photography | Emma & Richard

The  Charlotte House Hotel is a fabulous Lincolnshire wedding venue located in the historic Cathedral Quarter next to Lincoln Castle and provides a fabulous setting for weddings and wedding receptions.

I had photographed at the hotel before and it was great when Richard got in touch to see if I was available to photograph his wedding to Emma as I knew the wedding venue pretty well. I met with Richard and Emma a few months before their wedding at the hotel just to talk through how I photograph weddings in my unposed style.

The day started as usual with the bridal prep at Charlotte House Lincoln. Emma was staying with a couple of her bridesmaids who were her sisters the night before her wedding in one of the fabulous rooms in the hotel. I always try and get very creative during the bridal prep as it’s a bit more relaxed than the rest of the day and it’s a good time to get to know all of the bridal party too. The camera’s I use are very small and nearly totally silent allowing me to capture images without being noticed. As the wedding day guests started to arrive at the hotel I photographed them before meeting up with Richard the Groom who had been getting ready at his parent’s house.

“We cant thank you enough. The images you managed to capture… well we were totally blown away. We didn’t even see you taking photos for alot of the day, just amazing!”

The ceremony was being held in the Charlotte House Hotel Orangery, this contemporary structure, with its 19 meters, 2 storey curtain glass wall is fabulous for filling the room with natural light and provides a fantastic space for both dining and entertainment.

As Emma arrived in the orangery she was escorted down the aisle by her Mother. I could see Richard becoming slightly nervous, but he did manage to hold it all together…just about! After a fantastic wedding ceremony, it was outside on the terrace for a few family and friends group photographs, which I also take in a relaxed manner and then I took the bride and groom off for a walk through the grounds of Lincoln Castle and towards Steep Hill for a few unposed couple photos.

After about 15 minutes we all arrived back at the hotel and the day continued with the reception which was also held in the orangery. This included some hilarious speeches by the best man using PowerPoint and a projector and then it was into the evening.

The wedding was fabulous to be a part of. Huge congratulations to Emma and Richard on their wedding at The Charlotte House Hotel in Lincoln.
