As a wedding photographer who is very local to Doddington Hall I thought I would give a little insight into this fabulous wedding venue and one of the best wedding venues in Lincolnshire.
YOUR WEDDING CEREMONY
Doddington Hall was built in 1595 and it has never been sold. It is still privately owned and lived in, and it is a truly splendid venue with a uniquely exclusive and romantic atmosphere. Doddington’s mellow brick exterior with its walled courtyards has barely changed. However, in 1749, the Hall was inherited by John Delaval of Seaton Delaval in Northumberland and he carried out an extensive internal re-decoration, incorporating the light & elegant Georgian style that is still seen today.
If you choose Doddington as your Lincolnshire wedding venue, you can be assured of the personal attention of the wedding team. They can build you a wonderful weekend package (or two days if you are having a weekday wedding) to include stylish, homely and comfortable accommodation along with extra catering the night before and the morning after your wedding.
A Doddington Hall wedding is not just about the day itself, it offers you the chance to spend time with your family and friends over several days in a beautiful setting.
THE VENUE
The Coach House just steps away from Doddington Hall and was created in 2011 after extension and refurbishment. It is light, airy, fresh and modern but with a stunning Elizabethan exterior, the Coach House is a wonderfully private and comfortable location with a beautiful secluded garden. It is ideal for weddings, with exclusive use of the whole venue.
YOUR CEREMONY
The Long Gallery, situated in the Hall itself, can seat up to 200.
The Garden Room, situated in the Coach House, can seat up to 70.
The Coach House walled garden can seat up to 70.
Wedding receptions are held in the Coach House with the Long Gallery being used for civil ceremonies above 70 guests.
FOOD MENUS
Doddington Hall uses seasonal produce from their own estate and suppliers from Lincolnshire and surrounding counties. They have their own herd of Lincoln Red Cattle for all their beef dishes, plentiful game, their own honey and foraged wild garlic along with fantastic year-round produce from their walled Kitchen Garden
They can also offer you a ‘tasting’ where the bride and groom can enjoy a number of dishes from the menu. Thier Head Chef is also happy to build a bespoke menu if there is something you would specifically like to serve to your guests.
