St Georges Hall Wedding | Steph & Andy

So Steph got in touch after a recommendation from a friend. A wedding in Liverpool, my hometown and in the fabulous St Georges Hall too, brilliant!
The Grade 1 listed St George’s Hall sits within the heart of Liverpool in more ways than one; it is a place of congregation and celebration, offering a central location and a true sense of the city amidst incomparable surroundings.

Situated opposite Lime Street Station, in the very heart of Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage St George’s Quarter, you’ll find one of the finest examples of neoclassical architecture in the world.

This magnificent structure stands at 169ft long and 74ft wide with a tunnel vaulted ceiling – the largest of its kind in the whole of Europe. Established in 1854 as a grand hub for music festivals and the Civil and Crown courts, St George’s Hall has been at the very epicentre of Liverpool life ever since.

“We wanted lots of natural shots of wedding moments, rather than feeling posed. That’s exactly what we got! The end result was a series of beautiful photos capturing treasured memories – it felt real and un-staged. I don’t know how Nick did it, but our friends and families’ personalities really shine through in the photos.”

As there was no bridal prep I made my way to the registry office which is located in St Georges Hall. The groomsmen and several guests having a pre-wedding drink in the bar downstairs….just to settle a few nerves!

Steph arrived in an old VW Campervan with her parents and bridesmaids. As registry offices go the one in St Georges Hall is one of the nicest and largest I have shot a wedding in. The staff here were absolutely fantastic, always willing to help and the registrar was certainly very funny too.

After the ceremony, everybody made their way to the Baltic Fleet Social Club which is a fabulous venue for a reception especially if you’re having a really relaxed and chilled evening.

It was fantastic to photograph Steph & Andy’s wedding at St Georges Hall in Liverpool. I hope you like the images as much as I do.
